WRITERS ("we," "our," "us") operates the WRITERS mobile application (the "App"), a platform for the graffiti and street-art community. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.
• Profile information. Information you add to your profile (bio, avatar, artist name, preferences).
• User content. Photos and captions you upload of graffiti/street-art pieces, including any artist name you provide for a piece. You may flag content as explicit when uploading.
• Communications. Messages you send through the App's messaging features.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• Location data. When you grant the App location permission, we collect your device's precise or approximate location to display your position on the map and to pin uploaded pieces to geographic coordinates. You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings; the App will continue to function, though map positioning and location-tagged uploads will be limited.
• Device and usage data. We may collect device type, operating system version, app version, and how you interact with the App to improve functionality and troubleshoot issues.
• Push tokens. If you enable notifications, we collect a device token used solely to deliver push notifications to your device.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the App and its features;
• Provide the map, gallery, messaging, and community features;
• Personalize your experience and display your uploaded content;
• Moderate content, including reviewing content flagged as explicit or reported by users;
• Send you service-related notifications (with your consent where required);
• Ensure the security and integrity of the platform, prevent fraud/abuse, and enforce our Terms.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers. With trusted third parties (e.g., cloud hosting, push notification, analytics providers) that help us operate the App, under contractual obligations to protect your data.
• Legal compliance. When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition of all or part of our business.

Content you upload and messages you send are visible to other users according to the App's features and your settings.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 6.

5. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

• Location permission. You can grant or revoke location access at any time through your device settings.
• Notifications. You can disable push notifications through your device settings or in-app.
• Access, correction, and deletion. Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may delete individual content you have uploaded — such as posts, comments, and messages — at any time within the App, without deleting your account. To request deletion of other personal information, contact us using the contact details below or via our data deletion request page. Deleting your account will additionally remove content you have uploaded and your profile, subject to any legal retention requirements.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
